Course Narrative
I mistakenly signed up for this course, not knowing it was actually meant for students who weren't majoring in Japanese and simply needed the foreign language requirement met. Nevertheless, I actually learned a great deal about the business culture and etiquette in Japan. Procedures such as the exchanging of business cards (meshi) and writing of formal, Japanese-style letters were explored in this course. While again, not meant for me, this course actually prepared me for a similar course I would take in a later semester that actually WAS part of my major pathway. Much like the other course in this semester, this was sadly a course I could not document well in terms of major assignments, as a lot of the works for this class were done in person and collected but never returned before the switch to remote learning.
