Course Overview
This course aims to develop an advanced level of academic communication to finalize research projects using appropriate research methods. Students analyze and synthesize their research findings to orally present and to write academic papers using APA style. This course is a companion course for WLC 400 (Major Capstone). Taught in Japanese. (2 Units)
Course Narrative
This course established the fact that there are different styles of writing in Japanese, specifically the ones appropriate for essays and research papers. While the polite form I've used in previous courses is still the norm for spoken presentations (sentences/verbs ending in masu/desu), I was taught that when writing the same points in a power point presentation I'm to use the somewhat casual sounding writing (sentences/verbs ending in ru/ta). Due to complications, this class is incomplete and works and further narrative content will be postponed until finalization.
